CENTURY 21 Atwood shares the story of Pat Woratschka, New Ulm, MN.

“I try to deserve their respect, and treat them with dignity and respect”

Congratulations to the December 2021 CENTURY 21 Atwood #relentless Neighbor, Pat Woratschka, from New Ulm, MN.

You know Pat Woratschka, he has lived in New Ulm, MN all his life, and he is your Relentless Neighbor! Pat combines his love for people and drive to help others by giving in so many ways in the New Ulm community. No job title for what he does, but if there was, it would be“The everyday Santa of Sunshine”.He has found ways to do this in many different jobs and volunteer positions. Oak Hills Living Center volunteer, Special Olympics, Adaptive Recreational Services, he is the Anton Of Narren in New Ulm since 2009, and so much more. One of his current enjoyments is working with kindergarteners as a classroom Paraprofessional teacher’s aide. He brings sunshine and happiness to them each and every day.

“Make a difference in improving people’s lives and helping them be the best they can be” is what Pat believes. While this may seem like a statement shared often, this is Pat’s daily practice and he finds ways to give, and it is contagious.

Growing up on the family farm, which was in their family for generations, he shared his childhood with his siblings and the farm animals. Later, he bought that farm with one of his brothers, keeping it in the family, and finds his inspiration from another brother, now deceased, that had special needs and inspired Pat’s motivation for giving back. “I try to deserve their respect, and treat them with dignity and respect.” “I played Santa Claus for group homes, and all the residents knew me. Even today they remember me, see me in the neighborhood, and come up and hug me.”

Pat will tell you that he has no special gifts, he did not get any of his mom’s cooking or baking skills! So he is just trying to carry on his parent’s givers’ mindset somehow. “I like people smiling and laughing and feeling good about themselves, that is important to me. I like to do things in my life that bring good to others’ lives.” Ask anyone in New Ulm and they will tell you that he is truly making a difference. His special gift is showing people how easy it is to give back.
